Dinesh Kumar completed his Bachelor of Technology in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2002, and PhD degree in Information Science and Technology from University of Coimbra, Portugal, in June 2015. After his bachelor’s degree he worked as a research associate at IIT Kanpur for nearly one year.
Afterwards, he worked at University of Barcelona, Spain, for over one year as a researcher in a European Union sponsored project where he supported methods to interpret and analysis seismological data. Later, he joined adaptive computation group of the centre for Information System of University of Coimbra (CISUC) to work under the project MyHeart in July 2004. While working, he managed to publish papers in well-known conferences and journals of the respective research field. Being full time researcher in Europe, he worked in various research projects funded by European Union and Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation.
Currently, he works as an associate professor at the School of Computer Science Engineering and Technology of the Bennett University, Greater Noida, India. He earlier worked at department of Computer Engineering – AI & BigData of the Marwadi University, Rajkot. His recent areas of research are mainly machine learning, adaptive signal processing, and time-frequency representation of signals for condition monitoring of machine and human. He has supervised 5 master’s students and supervising 3 PhDs students. He predominantly uses MATLAB, R, and Python in his research work to implement algorithms for analysis tool.
